La Cartuja de Cazalla
What once was a Carthusian monastery, has again become an inspiring place, with ruins, partly restored, tranquility and nature.
Nowadays it is a Hotel and Cultural Centre, at only 3 kilometers from the town of Cazalla de la Sierra. La Cartuja does not only
offer accommodation but also concerts, theater, expositions and an artist workshop. There is a restaurant and a swimming pool.
Lodging Possibilities:
In the “Hospedería”, the building next to the entrance, there are 6 double and twin rooms and 2 single rooms with private bathroom.
The rooms are situated on the first and second floor.
In the Old Cloister there are 4 junior suites, restored monk cells, that each have a bedroom, a sitting room and a private bathroom.
These rooms are situated on the ground floor and are suitable for 2 to 4 persons.
Taller: Next to the artist workshop there are two double rooms, each with its own bathroom. These rooms are situated on the first floor of the Old Cloister.
Casita del Hortelano: The "Gardeners Cottage" has a sitting room with kitchen, two bedrooms (one double and one twin), two bathrooms and terrace.
Suitable for 2-5 persons.
Casa Equestre: This is the house of the monk who used to take care of the horses. It has a spacious sitting and dining room with kitchen,
three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a terrace with stunning views. Sleeps 6-9.
The price of most workshops include a one week stay in a double or twin rooms in the "Hospedería" (see "Prices").
